The Denver Broncos has become the first NFL side to sign a sports betting partnership after agreeing a multi-year deal with FanDuel Group.
As part of the historic deal, FanDuel will be an official sports betting and official daily fantasy partner of the Broncos.
Denver Broncos Chief Commercial Officer Mac Freeman stated: “FanDuel has built a strong reputation as a premier gaming destination for sports fans.
“The ways they smartly reach people through engaging and entertaining content is in line with the Broncos’ innovative thinking when connecting with our fans. With FanDuel’s successful launch into Colorado earlier in May, we believe Broncos fans will enjoy FanDuel’s trusted mobile sports betting and daily fantasy platforms.”
FanDuel has also been given access to Broncos’ logos and marks to use across the sports betting company’s online and fantasy products in Colorado. The firm will also be prevalent in Broncos’ marketing assets ranging from in-stadium signage to radio, television, and digital advertising.
FanDuel Group CMO Mike Raffensperger added: “Colorado is home to a passionate sports fan base and independent spirit, and, together with the Broncos, we’re going to take the fan experience in Colorado to the next level.
“With the NFL season just around the corner, partnering with an innovative organisation like the Denver Broncos allows us to offer engaging fan experiences both inside and outside the stadium and access to unique betting promotions and content.”
The NFL is one of the few sports leagues to not be directly affected by the global health pandemic due to the event occurring during the competition’s off-season. Nevertheless, the NFL’s September openers could still be pushed back depending on the climate closer to the time. The organisation also had to transition the NFL Draft to an online product in May with the event taking place virtually.
