The National Football League (NFL) has announced a deal with Gateway Casinos & Entertainment that will see the brand become the league’s Official National Land-Based Casino Partner in Canada. 

The deal grants Gateway the rights to use NFL trademarks in Canada to promote its properties and activate around key NFL events including the NFL Draft, Pro Bowl, and Super Bowl.

David Thomson, the managing director of NFL Canada, commented on the partnership: “NFL Canada is truly proud to be working with Gateway to collaborate and help accelerate its business in Canada. Like the NFL and our players, Gateway sets itself apart in the market through unparalleled teamwork and commitment to excellence, which makes our new partnership so powerful in Canada .”

The partnership also sees Gateway’s signature ‘MATCH Eatery & Public House’ become the exclusive presenting sponsor of the NFL Fantasy App.

Carrie Kormos, Chief Marketing & Communications Officer at Gateway Casinos,  reiterated her excitement surrounding the deal: “We are thrilled to partner with the NFL in Canada as their first Canadian Land-Based Casino Partner. We know there are millions of football fans across Canada and to be able to offer exclusive, unique experiences to them at our properties is very exciting. Starting with the NFL Fantasy Draft, the multi-year sponsorship is focused on Gateway offering unique NFL experiences for their customers. Moreover, Gateway and ‘MATCH’ locations is set to improve fan experiences with interactive game day décor, unique opportunities to meet NFL players and exclusive promotions.

The NFL is entering its third week of pre-season on Friday, with the league officially kicking off on September 6th when the Chicago Bears host the Green Bay Packers at Soldier Field.
