ESPN is elevating social engagement in a new content partnership with Facebook.

The agreement brings exclusive digital shows and content to Facebook Watch. At launch, this includes The People’s MMA Show, additional segments from Always Late with Katie Nolan, and exclusive versions of Countdown to GameDay and Fantasy Focus Live.

Ryan Spoon, Senior Vice President, Digital and Social Content, ESPN commented on the collaboration: “We are extending some of our most popular ESPN shows and creating new ones with content available only on Facebook and Facebook Watch. This allows us to connect with fans and drive the conversation around sports in a way that leverages what we and the platform do best.”

Rob Shaw, Facebook Head of League and Media Sports Partnerships added: “We’re incredibly excited to bring such a strong slate of ESPN programming to Facebook Watch.

“ESPN produces world-class content, so we have no doubt that these shows will inspire the type of conversation and connection that makes Facebook Watch a unique way to experience sports.”

ESPN will engage and interact with fans through the Facebook Watch platform via Watch Parties, polls, or live talent Q&As.

The announcement follows the NFL’s partnership extension with the social media giant, strengthening its sports rights portfolio with a host of new and diversified content.

As part of that partnership, the NFL will continue distributing recaps from all regular season games, as well as playoff matchups, and the Super Bowl, plus video highlights from postseason tentpole events like the Pro Bowl, NFL Scouting Combine and NFL Draft.
