German Bundesliga club SV Werder Bremen has strengthened its status in the Asian football scene and sports betting market via an agreement with regional operator 188Bet.
The two-year sponsorship arrangement represents a continued commitment by the club to maintain and enhance its position in Asia, following a previous sleeve sponsorship agreement during the 2019/20 season with another Asia-based betting firm, Tou Tou.
Under the terms of the recent deal, 188Bet’s logo will appear on the players’ shirt sleeves during all league and DFB-Pokal matches until the end of the 2022/23 season.
Additionally, the operator will benefit from branding backdrops on social media and during official club interviews, as well as LED advertising at the club’s Weserstadion home ground.
“188Bet is a well-established and forward thinking company, which is an important addition to our partnership roster,” said Klaus Filbry, Chief Executive of Werder Bremen.
“They are an exciting brand that aims to bring together the sports betting audience in Asia and we are tremendously proud to be part of this journey.”
The partnership will also see the club and operator cooperate on fan engagement initiatives, including the creation of branded digital content utilising players, the Weserstadion and the club crest.
“At 188Bet, we recognise the importance of football to our customers, in particular interest in the Bundesliga,” added Nigel Singer, Managing Director at 188Bet.
“Over the next two years, 188Bet looks forward to a successful partnership with Werder Bremen.”
Werder Bremen maintains an extensive sponsorship portfolio, including primary front-of-shirt sponsor and stadium naming rights holder Wiesenhof and AB InBev, the latter of which the club recently signed an extension agreement with.
