The Bundesliga will air all 20 Friday night fixtures on YouTube from Mark Goldbridge’s That’s Football and Gary Neville’s The Overlap.
The Bundesliga has inked a new UK broadcast deal for the 2025/26 season which will see its slate of 20 live Friday games be aired on YouTube channels That’s Football and The Overlap.
That’s Football, headed by online football personality Mark Goldbridge, will share the fixtures with The Overlap, the media company Co-Founded by Gary Neville.
The Overlap’s Bundesliga coverage will start on August 22 when champions Bayern Munich host RB Leipzig at the Allianz Arena.
The YouTube channels will present the games in a ‘watchalong’ format, popularised by Goldbridge during his watchalongs of Manchester United games, giving his real-time reactions to moments in football matches as they happen. This was a key reason the UK’s Bundesliga broadcasting rights were granted to the channels.
Catering to the younger, digital-native audiences which exist on YouTube, the Bundesliga hopes to extend its reach and visibility among these audiences. The Overlap currently has 1.5 million subscribers on YouTube, whereas That’s Football currently has 1.38 million subscribers.
“This is a huge moment for me personally and for That’s Football,” said Goldbridge. “To be working directly with one of Europe’s biggest leagues is something I never imagined when I started streaming in my spare room.
“The Bundesliga has always been a league full of incredible talent, and we can’t wait to bring its energy to our community in a way only That’s Football can. This is more than just showing games – it’s about creating a new way for fans to experience football together.”
Amazon & BBC brought onboard
Continuing its focus on digital streaming platforms, Amazon Prime Video and the BBC have also acquired broadcasting rights for the Bundesliga season.
As part of Amazon’s multi-year deal with the Bundesliga, fixtures will be part of Prime Video’s pay-per-view (PPV) model which exists for Ligue 1 games in the UK.
Prime Video customers will be required to pay £2.49 per Bundesliga match, which begins on August 24 with Mainz vs. Köln, and Borussia Mönchengladbach vs. Hamburg SV. This PPV model requires no Prime Video subscription or any other long-term commitment.
“German football has an intense following in the UK, especially as more English talent such as Jobe Bellingham and Jarrell Quansah join the likes of Harry Kane in the Bundesliga,” said Tim Wood, Head of Rights and Business Affairs, Prime Video Sport, EMEA.
“By expanding our Pay-Per-View selection with Bundesliga matches, we’re giving UK football fans more ways to engage with European football throughout the season without long-term commitments or subscriptions.”
Elsewhere, BBC Sport have also secured a multi-year broadcasting rights deal with the German football league to stream one match per week on BBC iPlayer, the BBC Sport website and BBC Sport app.
The Bayern Munich vs. RB Leipzig fixture on August 22 will also be made available on the aforementioned BBC platforms.
“To be able to include Bundesliga matches within our live football offering is phenomenal, especially Bayern Munich’s opening game with England’s captain Harry Kane,” added Alex Kay-Jelski, Director of BBC Sport.
“I’m proud BBC Sport has such an impressive portfolio of football coverage across all of our platforms – from live games to highlights, digital clips to breaking news on the website, we’ve got fans covered this season.”

Sky Sports still onboard
Sky Sports will also remain a UK broadcast partner of the Bundesliga, albeit under limited capacity.
Sky Sports retains its rights to broadcast select Saturday evening games from the Bundesliga, which starts on August 23 with the fixture between St. Pauli vs. Borussia Dortmund.
The Bundesliga and Sky Sports’ previous broadcast rights agreement, signed in 2021, saw Sky Sports become the exclusive broadcaster of the league in the UK and Ireland. This agreement enabled Sky Sports to broadcast live Friday night fixtures, which it has now lost.
