Swindon Town FC has become the second UK football club to enter into a partnership with cryptocurrency betting firm Stake.com.

Under the terms of the agreement, Stake.com logos will adorn the League Two side’s shirt sleeves for its clash against Manchester City in the upcoming FA Cup Third Round, taking place tomorrow night (7 January).

The deal also marks an expansion of Stake’s sports sponsorship portfolio and football-oriented marketing strategy, building on its existing arrangement as Watford FC’s shirt partner for the 2021/22 season

Danny Lee, Head of Commercial, Swindon Town FC, remarked: “We are delighted to welcome on board Stake.com as our official sleeve partner for our exciting Emirates FA Cup Third Round Tie versus Manchester City.

“We are proud to welcome such an innovative brand on board and are looking forward to working with the team at Stake.com on this partnership and beyond.”

Founded in 2017, Stake made its debut in the UK market last month after securing a UK Gambling Commission (UKGC) licence, commencing sports betting and casino operations in partnership with TGP Europe.

The match could prove to boost Stake’s UK branding and marketing due to its free-to-air broadcast on ITV, gaining exposure to fans of both Swindon Town and the defending Premier League champions, as well as neutral supporters.

Dominic Rae, Sponsorships Manager for Stake.com, said: “Stake.com is delighted to be partnering with Swindon Town FC for what is a truly David vs Goliath FA Cup encounter.

At Stake.com we love an underdog story and look forward to playing our part in supporting the club as they bid to pull off one of the biggest FA Cup giant-killings of all time.”
