Major League Baseball’s (MLB) Houston Astros have named sports betting and iGaming operator, BetMGM, as the team’s exclusive sports betting partner.

Marking the firm’s first relationship in Texas, the collaboration sees BetMGM gain ‘prominent’ branding around Minute Maid Park, including a permanent outfield wall sign and rotational promotional messaging behind home plate. 

Giles Kibbe, Senior Vice President, General Counsel for the Astros, commented: “We are looking forward to our partnership with BetMGM. As we continue to strive for new ways to add to the fan experience, this partnership will provide another way for the Astros to engage with our fans.”

Furthermore, VIP experiences will also be made available exclusive to BetMGM customers. These have been revealed as throwing out the first pitch, on-field access to batting practice, and VIP getaways for away games, to name a few. 

BetMGM and the Astros also will team up to offer special betting promotions for BetMGM customers in Louisiana.

Last summer, MLB franchise the Pittsburgh Pirates joined forces with BetMGM which, similarly, saw the firm’s branding featured throughout the team’s PNC Park stadium, alongside fan-focused promotions, social media material and more.

BetMGM content was also integrated across the Pirates’ digital and social platforms. Additionally, the firm’s signage will be prominently featured at PNC Park, including the left field wall and behind home plate.
