Stake’s UFC links strengthened further with Alex Pereira

UFC CEO Dana White announced that the MMA promotion is set to hold an event at the Sphere in Las Vegas.

Speaking at the post-event press conference of UFC295 at Madison Square Garden, White revealed that the UFC has booked the Sphere for Mexican Independence Day next year.

White underlined how he was persistent in his approach to securing the Sphere as he promised ‘the greatest live combat sports show everyone has ever seen’.

He told the media: “Mexican Independence Day, we are booked for the Sphere. It is a massive challenge, and I love every minute of it. I’m super excited about this. I love challenges. I’m gonna put on the greatest live combat sports show everyone has ever seen.”

The UFC once again secured a top three record gate at Madison Square Garden, as Alex Pereira defeated Jiri Prochazka in the main event of UFC295 on Saturday evening.

The Sphere is owned by the Madison Square Garden company and was opened in September of this year, with clips of U2’s shows at the arena capturing the imagination of fans globally.
