Ahead of the start of the new NBA season, the Golden State Warriors have partnered with cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase.
The Warriors named Coinbase as its official cryptocurrency platform and blockchain partner throughout the 2024/25 NBA season, receiving branding opportunities inside the Chase Centre in San Francisco.
Both parties will collaborate on introducing new ways to connect with the Warriors through on-chain experiences, limited merchandise and more fan engagement features throughout the season.
Golden State Warriors Chief Commercial Officer, Mike Kitts, said: “The Warriors and Coinbase are both at the forefront of fan engagement.
“Building fandom using blockchain technology continues to be an area of opportunity for us, and we’re excited to partner with Coinbase to continue to bring unique experiences to our fans, whether they’re at Chase Center or watching from home.”
Fans in attendance at the Chase Center during the Warriors’ home games against the Memphis Grizzlies on 4 January and the Milwaukee Bucks on 20 March will have the opportunity to receive physical and on-chain giveaways.
Coinbase will receive prominent placement at Chase Center, visible on broadcast and in-arena. The crypto company is also the exclusive cryptocurrency partner of the NBA, WNBA, NBA G League, and NBA 2K League.
Kate Rouch, Coinbase Chief Marketing Officer, added: “Coinbase is the bridge to crypto. Our exclusive partnership with the Golden State Warriors gives fans simple and fun ways to try it out. We’re excited to bring Dub Nation on-chain.”
