Swiss Super League champions BSC Young Boys have brought onboard Kitman Labs to enhance its oversight of player and coaching performance through the use of enriched data.
The Bern-based club will deploy the full suite of Kitman Labs solutions, the iP: Intelligence Platform across the men’s first team. This will include the Performance Medicine, Performance Optimization and Coaching and Development Solutions, combining player-related medical, performance, and development data in one fully integrated and shared advanced operating system.
Kitman Labs’ Intelligence Platform is the only natively designed platform capable of unifying a club’s entire data landscape – aggregating all third-party data sources and providers into a singular platform designed to provide BSC Young Boys with a real-time view of their players.
The centralised platform is designed to ensure a consistent, accurate collection of data across the organisation, ultimately providing the insights and powering the advanced analytics necessary to inform both tactical and strategic decision-making.
Christoph Spycher, Sporting Director of BSC Young Boys, said: “While the collection of data is essential, the value of that data can only be realised if you’re collecting the right data, consistently, and have the ability to convert that data into practical intelligence. With Kitman Labs, we are putting the technology in place to do just that.
‘By combining medical, performance and development data in one shared system, our coaches, staff, practitioners and players now have the ability to generate the insights necessary to address everything from injury prevention and recurrence to load management and rehab to performance benchmarking and player progression.
“By streamlining the collection of data and providing the analytics, reporting and visualisation tools necessary to communicate those findings, our practitioners can spend less time running analysis and more time applying those insights in training and on the pitch.”
Kitman Labs has an established track record of working with top teams and leagues across a variety of sports, including football, basketball, rugby, and American football.
The company’s technology is used by football clubs such as Bayer Leverkusen, Ipswich Town, Fulham FC, Chelsea FC and Liverpool FC. Kitman Labs recently announced the launch and deployment of The Football Intelligence Platform across all Premier League academies.
“BSC Young Boys have an incredible track record of success both domestically and in major European competitions.,” said Stephen Smith, CEO and Founder of Kitman Labs.
“The club and its leadership have made a clear commitment to leveraging technology, data and analytics to help inform and unlock player welfare and performance outcomes as they continue to elevate their level of play. We look forward to partnering with them to help achieve those goals on every front.”
