The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) sports organisation has opened its new venue, named UFC Apex, which will unsurprisingly open its doors in Las Vegas.

The UFC and its president, Dana White, have announced the launch of their new production facility earlier this week. The new Las Vegas venue will host concerts, esports events, various other sports and some of the UFC’s own Fight Pass productions following its launch.

White could not hide his pride at the unveiling of UFC Apex and highlighted his organisation’s plans for the future in the Las Vegas venue. He celebrated the new launch: “UFC Apex is going to be a massive game changer for combat sports and for UFC. This facility gives us the flexibility to try new things and push the envelope on producing and distributing combat sports all over the world.

“We are limited only by my imagination. When you think of where we started and where we are now, it’s pretty incredible, but we haven’t even scratched the surface of how big this will become.”

Earlier in the week, UFC Apex got a baptism of fire as it hosted the premiere of season 3 of Dana White’s Contender Series on Tuesday, June 18th. Fans got their first taste of the new state-of-the-art facility which they will be seeing much more of over the coming years.

The UFC’s Craig Borsari, vice president of production, added: “With UFC APEX, we’re future-proofing the way we produce and distribute our content. UFC Apex allows us to branch out into creating other forms of in-demand sports and entertainment content and distributes them anywhere in the world.”
