Memphis Grizzlies signs deal with WynnBET as operator continues expansion

National Basketball Association (NBA) franchise the Memphis Grizzlies have signed a sponsorship agreement with online sportsbook WynnBET.

Under the terms of the latest agreement with WynnBET, the duo will cooperate on digital promotion campaigns, utilising the basketball franchise’s social media, online and app presence and following.

Additionally, a WynnBET-branded lounge will be constructed at the Grizzlies’ FedExForum arena.

This is the second betting sponsorship agreement signed by the Grizzlies, hot on the heels of agreement with FanDuel, announced in November, following the liberalisation of state betting laws, allowing the sportsbook’s customers unique and exclusive promotions under the terms of the partnership.

WynnBET is the online sports betting offering of Las Vegas-based entertainment and hospitality firm Wynn Resorts, and has recently been approved for operations in the Grizzlies’ home state of Tennessee.

The operator is currently active in New Jersey, Colorado and Michigan, in addition to gaining market access in the states of Massachusetts, Ohio, Nevada and India.

Following the legalisation of local online sports wagering in Tennessee, four operators launched operations in the state – FanDuel, BetMGM, DraftKings, and local firm Tennessee Action 24/7. Although online sports betting has been legalised, land-based casinos and retail sportsbooks and betting kiosks remain prohibited.

William Hill will make its debut in the state later this month, whilst BetAmerica – currently in the process of rebranding as TwinSpires – will also begin operating soon.
