Real Madrid CF’s Luka Modrić has signed a regional partnership online casino OlyBet in a bid to strengthen localised media campaigns and fan engagement.

The Balkans-focused collaboration looks to give football fans ‘unique’ opportunities to interact with the midfielder in person and over social media.

Corey Plummer, CEO of Olympic Entertainment Group and OlyBet Group, explained that the creation of new digital platforms gives sports fans distinctive experiences benefiting from partnerships with high profile athletes and sports organisations.

“OlyBet has partnerships with the NBA, NHL and football club Fiorentina on the international level and have been long time sponsors to Olympic Committees on a regional basis in countries where we operate,” he noted.

Through the partnership, the OlyBet and OlyBet TV platforms look to offer a ‘new type of participation’ to sports fans with a focus on combining sports entertainment and news through the platform.

In additional European countries where OlyBet is available, users will be able to be involved in the ‘betting environment’ of the OlyBet sports portal, as well as access opportunities to attend major sports events, meeting professional players at home stadiums and joining entertainment experiences.

Modrić, also captain of the Croatian national team, has received several recognitions in the sport, including the UEFA Men’s Player of the Year Award 2017–18 and the Ballon d’Or in 2018.

Earlier this year, the online casino also became the National Hockey League’s (NHL) official sports betting partner of the division in the Baltic region.

Through the deal, OlyBet used official NHL branding to amplify the partnership in 100 casinos, hotels and food and beverage locations across Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, as well as across its digital assets.

More recently, the enterprise gained exposure through a deal with ACF Fiorentina in October in being named the Serie A club’s official regional betting partner, as OlyBet and OlyBet.TV branding became visible on the sideline LEDs throughout Europe and in the home games’ digital overlay technology – adopted by the club at the start of the season.
