DAZN has confirmed a non-exclusive deal with Movistar Plus+ which will distribute the global sports streaming platform’s La Liga content beginning from next season.

DAZN was awarded exclusive broadcasting rights for 175 LaLiga matches for seasons 2022/23 – 2026/27, and will now make this package available to customers of the Spanish entertainment platform as part of the DAZN offer integrated on Movistar Plus+, both through its App and its linear channels.

Jacopo Tonoli, Chief Commercial Officer, DAZN Group, commented: “We are very pleased to announce this new distribution agreement with Movistar Plus+, expanding on our existing partnership.

“Our mission is to make premium sport more accessible to an ever-increasing number of fans in an easy, flexible and innovative way, and this deal allows us to do so by driving further growth in Spain.”

DAZN will be in charge of the production of five matches per gameweek in a bid to ‘bring new talent and new flavour’ to LaLiga coverage. The collaboration has also revealed that fans of the sport, who are not Movistar Plus+ customers, will also be able to watch the DAZN LaLiga package directly on the company’s app.

“At Movistar we will focus all our efforts on providing our customers with access to the widest range of content on the market,” added Sergio Oslé, President of Movistar Plus+.

“With this new agreement we guarantee access to all Movistar Plus+ customers to the main competition of our soccer for the next seasons. The agreements reached with LaLiga and DAZN strengthen the relationship with the best partners to continue promoting our ‘Infinite stadium’ with an unparalleled sports offer.”

Launched in 2019, DAZN continues to further its offering which also currently includes Copa del Rey, Premier League, UEFA Women’s Champions League, Copa Libertadores, Copa Sudamericana, FA Cup, Carabao Cup and MLS, to name a few.
