SC Freiburg has formed a partnership with Cazoo which becomes the team’s main partner and shirt sponsor from the beginning of the 2022/23 season.

In Cazoo’s entry into the Bundesliga, the car company will gain advertisement rights at the club’s games at the Europa-Park Stadium, including on advertising boards, media backdrops and the club’s online presence.

Oliver Leki, Sporting Director of SC Freiburg, commented: “We’re pleased to have Cazoo on board from the coming season as main partner and shirt sponsor.

“The partnership with the club should help Cazoo as a dynamic digital enterprise to achieve its communication targets in Germany. At the same time, the partnership confirms the positive development of SC Freiburg over recent years.”

Furthermore, Cazoo will also serve as the main sponsor of SC Freiburg’s reserve (U23) team, which plays in the third division, and will also serve as a co-sponsor of the Freiburger Fußballschule (Freiburg football school).

The company will have a presence within all of the club’s youth teams, as well as becoming a co-partner and sleeve sponsor of the women’s team.

Cazoo Founder and CEO, Alex Chesterman, stated: “SC Freiburg have made a big step forward over recent years, both on the pitch and in terms of infrastructure with its new Europa-Park Stadium.

“The club has a passionate fan base and, like us, is ambitious and goal-oriented. At the same time, it has been considered one of the most likeable clubs in German football for years as a result of its humility and social commitment.

“We look forward to engaging with fans and local people over the coming years, while making Cazoo a well-known brand in Germany and providing the best car buying and selling experience in this important market.”

The partners have also pledged to focus on sustainability projects and campaigns such as electromobility and/or hybrid driving, as well as joint projects in the field of environment or exercise.

Cazoo intends to use the SC Freiburg partnership to increase its brand awareness in Germany, a market which it has been present in since December 2021. The firm is also the main sponsor of the Professional Darts Corporations (PDC) Premier League as it continues to expand its brand awareness throughout multiple sports.
