The Hamburg European Open has revealed that Betway has increased its sponsorship as the official betting sponsor at this year’s Rothenbaum tournament.

The competition is set to take place from 16-24 July, whilst the announcement looks to further demonstrate the online betting and gaming brand’s commitment to sponsorship of high profile international sporting events.

Tournament Director, Sandra Reichel, said: “We are delighted to announce the expansion of our partnership with Betway. They came aboard last year in unusual times with a multi-year deal and now they committed even more generously to the idea of a men’s and women’s tournament.

“They are supporting us in making history with the combined event returning to Hamburg after 44 years. Besides being highly respected in its industry, Betway shares our commitment to creating a safe environment for customers. This was important to us when choosing a partner.”

The 2022 Hamburg European Open will feature players such as rising Danish star Holger Rune, Spanish Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, Top 10 player Danielle Collins from the US and tournament Ambassador Andrea Petkovic from Germany.

“We are very proud to continue our fantastic relationship with the Hamburg European Open,” added Anthony Werkman, Betway’s CEO. “This year, we are also extremely happy to be creating a piece of history as we partner with the women’s tournament.

“It’s very important for the women’s game to receive support in order to allow it to grow, so it’s great that we have been able to play a part in this via our partnership with the Hamburg European Open.”
