Major League Baseball (MLB) has formed an agreement with Distill Brands International (DBI) which sees the latter become the official vodka of the league in the US and Canada.

In collaboration, of which extends across television, digital media and retail locations, DBI plans to promote its Super Premium and Premium Vodkas with integrated branding across MLB’s broadcast and digital platforms.

“With their breadth of creativity and experience in the industry, DBI is a great addition to the MLB lineup of official sponsors,” stated Noah Garden, MLB Chief Revenue Officer. “We look forward to working together over the coming years.”

In addition, DBI will begin selling products at retail locations in California, Florida and New York that will include MLB promotional displays during the first quarter of 2023. DBI has outlined further plans to continue expanding retail opportunities throughout North America in restaurants and storefronts.

Moreso, DBI is introducing vodka beverages with baseball branding. The multi-year partnership will also supply DBI with marketing and activation rights across MLB Jewel Events including MLB All-Star Week and the World Series presented by Capital One. 

Last week, the Major League Baseball Players Association (MLBPA) awarded various promotions among its senior staff to enhance the union’s ability to ‘advance and protect’ players’ rights.
Notably, Bruce Meyer, previously Senior Director, Collective Bargaining and Legal has now been promoted to Deputy Executive Director, meanwhile Ian Penny has become his Senior Advisor.
