The 2024 Paris Games has secured daytime broadcasts from NBC including live swimming, gymnastics and track and field finals, as well as Peacock which will stream every sport and event live.

The tournament will break the Olympic record for broadcast hours on the NBC network, with its official opening on 26 July with an outdoor Opening Ceremony along the Seine River airing live on NBC, Peacock and Telemundo. Medal competition starts the following day.

In detail, NBC will air at least nine hours of daytime coverage per day, including those live finals.

Pete Bevacqua, Chairman of NBC Sports, commented: “The Paris Olympics are going to be the most binge-worthy event of 2024. Viewers will devour every moment of the Games for 17 straight nights on NBC in primetime where the stories of the day will be retold with special dramatic flair in front of the gathered American audience.

“For those wanting to watch the competition as it happens, Peacock will have everything live, creating the greatest single destination in sports media history.”

The channel has also promised an enhanced Olympics primetime show, providing three hours of entertainment each night.

“From the spectacular landmarks of Paris to the world’s greatest athletes performing in front of full stadiums and arenas for the first time in six years, viewers can expect one of the most extraordinary Olympics ever,” Bevacqua continued.

Furthermore, NBC Universal’s streaming service Peacock will show all 329 medal events, and will feature full-event replays; all NBC programming; curated video clips; virtual channels; exclusive original programming; and more.

“Peacock is bringing the rich history of these incredible Games to our viewers like never before, providing unparalleled and unprecedented access to one of the world’s greatest sporting events,” added Kelly Campbell, President, Peacock and Direct to Consumer at NBCUniversal.

“Already home to more live sports than any other SVOD service, Peacock is proud to be the streaming home of Team USA and all of their passionate fans.”

Last year, NBCUniversal also provided coverage of the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing on Peacock.

From 2 – 20 February, the company made available all events on broadcast and cable television to provide fans with a ‘comprehensive Olympics destination’ for all live action and catch-up.
