UK broadcaster TNT Sports has signed a multi-year broadcast deal with Premiership Women’s Rugby

The deal will see TNT Sports showcase 20 live matches per season on its dedicated channels and digital platforms, including one match each weekend, as well as semi-finals matches and the final on 22 June, 2024.

Furthermore, the TNT Sports app will also host highlights, match reports and interviews from Premiership Women’s Rugby games.

Belinda Moore, Chief Executive of Premiership Women’s Rugby, said: “This is a pivotal moment in the history of women’s club rugby in England, as we will see at least 21 Premiership Women’s Rugby matches broadcast live on TNT Sports and Discovery+ this season

“For the first time, this ground-breaking partnership with TNT Sports will allow us to create an appointment to view each weekend for our fans and clubs, fundamentally changing the profile of the league.

“Research from the Women’s Sports Trust shows there are 1.5 million committed women’s rugby fans in the UK, which shows the potential of this partnership.”

This broadcast deal bolds well for the early rebrand of the women’s rugby league after it was renamed Premiership Women’s Rugby from Premier 15s last June.

The Premiership Women’s Rugby adds to TNT’s growing portfolio of rugby content, which includes the men’s Premiership Rugby and European Club Rugby

TNT Sports has been highly active in acquiring rights for a multitude of sports since it rebranded from BT Sports last summer.

Whilst already holding a lucrative deal to broadcast live Premier League matches, the sports broadcaster has also been named the home of the NBA in the UK in a recent multi-year deal, adding to boxing, mixed martial arts and other sports on the channel.
