Manchester United icon and sports media personality Gary Neville has become a partner and the Chairman of Consello Strive’s UK business.

As the Chairman of Consello Strive UK, Neville will be responsible for leading the company’s initiatives to broaden Strive’s footprint in the UK market, building upon the company’s existing financial advisory services and other offerings since establishing its offices and presence in London last year.

Launched in January, Consello Strive serves as a multifaceted platform offering advisory, investment, intellectual property and content management, as well as leadership development services.

Declan Kelly, Chairman and CEO of Consello, said: “Gary is a born leader, world class athlete and successful entrepreneur who takes a self-described relentless approach to all of his professional and personal pursuits.

“We are thrilled to have him join our team and to help us further build out our presence in the UK in the months and years ahead. We will also be working directly with Gary to expand his business interests in the US and other regions, further building on the very successful career he has developed both inside and outside of football over the last number of years.”

Since stepping away from professional football, Neville has maintained a significant presence in the European sports scene, with his endeavours as a broadcaster, coach, co-owner of Salford City and as an entrepreneur.

Neville has established businesses spanning various sectors, including media, hospitality, real estate development, and higher education, under his Relentless Group umbrella.

Neville commented: “I’m delighted to join Consello and play a prominent role in the Firm’s thriving business. Having worked in professional sports, media and entertainment for more than 30 years, I’ve seen first-hand how this world is evolving through technological innovation, content globalisation, and the increasing role of institutional investment.”

In addition to engaging in co-investments alongside their partners, the leaders at Strive leverage their extensive industry knowledge and networks to offer guidance to clients.

As a partner of the firm, the former Manchester United footballer will join the likes of seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady, 23-time Grand Slam champion Serena Williams, NBA Basketball Hall of Famer Pau Gasol, former President and CEO of WW International Mindy Grossman, and Uber Co-Founder Oscar Salazar.

“Strive has assembled an exceptional team that is uniquely well-positioned to help corporations, leagues, teams and brands navigate these dynamic industries and reach their full potential,” Neville added.

Neville’s remarkable career at Manchester United includes eight English Premier League titles, two UEFA Champions League victories, three FA Cups, and one FIFA Club World Cup, the defender also served as the captain between 2005 and 2011.

At the moment the Manchester-based club isn’t performing to the heights that it once did, when Neville played for the team. However, new owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe has spoken about how he plans to revive the club, returning it to its former glory.

Janey Whiteside, Consello Partner and CEO of Consello Growth and Business Development, said: “As we sought out individuals with the track record and tenacity to scale Strive’s operations, Gary stood out as an ideal representation of our Firm’s vision, values and multi-discipline expertise.

“He has created a legacy in the world’s most popular sport and successfully transitioned into various other content creation, investing and operating endeavours.”
