Sports data and technology company Genius Sports has announced an exclusive partnership with Football DataCo to obtain official betting data for English and Scottish football.

The four-year partnership will start in 2025 and conclude in 2029, which will see Genius Sports utilise betting data from the Premier League, English Football League and Scottish Professional Football League into its platform.

Genius has been DataCo’s exclusive supplier of official low latency data for the aforementioned football leagues since 2019.

This latest data rights agreement by the two parties further bolsters Genius’ position as a leading sports data and technology entity, amassing over 400 partnerships with sports teams and leagues, including the Premier League, NBA, NCAA, AFA and more.

The company uses cutting-edge technology to scale and reach its partners via the use of big data, computer vision and machine learning.

DataCo was established in 2001 by professional football leagues in England and Scotland to protect and commercialise its official match data, overseeing a collection of partnerships and events through this time.

The organisation also protects the copyright of Premier League and EFL still action images, and runs the online media accreditation tool for journalists and photographers to apply to attend their matches.
