The Badminton World Federation (BWF) has revealed that online gambling company BK8 has become the official sponsor for the final of the HSBC BWF World Tour 2024.
Scheduled to take place in Hangzhou this December, the global sports betting and igaming platform’s partnership now extends to three prestigious badminton tournaments within the tour.
Its sponsorships already include the TOYOTA Thailand Open 2024 which occurred from 14 – 19 May 2024, the Hong Kong Open 2024 set for 10 – 15 September 2024, and now the HSBC BWF World Tour Finals 2024 from 11 – 15 December.
Michael Gatt, BK8’s Managing Director, commented: “We are excited to collaborate with the BWF to deliver an exceptional tournament experience and showcase the best of badminton to fans around the world.”
The collaboration also aims to underscore the operator’s commitment to supporting and promoting various sporting events on a global level.
As the official sponsor of HSBC BWF World Tour Finals 2024, BK8 aims to contribute to the success of these tournaments while fostering greater engagement among badminton enthusiasts worldwide.
“This partnership symbolises our dedication to contribute to the vibrant badminton community and promoting the spirit of competition,” Gatt added.
In further news, the operator has recently been replaced by Betano as Aston Villa’s shirt sponsor.
During the collaboration, BK8 made a contribution per adult third shirt sold to a local charity in Birmingham. This came off the back of BK8’s previous work with charities and programmes involving mental health awareness.
