Crypto.com enters sports trading for the first time

Global cryptocurrency exchange Crypto.com is now heading into the world of sports trading with the launch of its first ever sports event trading product.

Initially available to US customers only, the Crypto.com sports trading product will allow participants to trade their sports predictions on Crypto.com and the Crypto.com app.

Users can trade their sports predictions on the outcome of sporting events in the US, such as the NFL’s Super Bowl next year.

Crypto.com states this product is the first of its kind, backed by the regulation of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC).

Kris Marszalek, Co-Founder and CEO of Crypto.com, said: “Sports Events Trading offers an entirely new platform for US users to engage nationwide at Crypto.com and in the Crypto.com app.

“This unique financial product allows users to trade their prediction on the outcome of a sports event. It’s a fundamentally new concept for sports, and we’re thrilled to be the first regulated platform in the US to offer it to our users.”

This new sports offering on Crypto.com comes at a pertinent time for US sports, particularly within the NFL. The league has two high-profile games on Christmas Day on Netflix tomorrow (25 December), as well as the upcoming play-offs in January, with Super Bowl LIX set to take place in New Orleans, Louisiana on 9 February 2025.

It is unclear whether the sports trading prediction offering will be eligible for other US sports, such as the NBA with basketball or MLB with baseball.
