Manchester City, alongside its kit supplying partner Puma, have launched a global fan vote to decide the club’s third kit for the 2026/27 season.
The Premier League champions have shortlisted 10 designs that were curated from the Puma AI Creator Kit design competition that was opened in December. Manchester City took into consideration 1.6 million ratings by fans on the platform.
Supporters of the club from all over the world will be able to vote on their favourite design from the 10 shortlisted, with the winning kit to be worn by first team players during the 2026/27 Premier League season. Voting opens on aicreator.puma.com on 29 January 2025.
Ivan Dashkov, Head of Emerging Marketing Tech at PUMA, stated: “We launched AI Creator to empower the PUMA and Man City communities to explore the limits of their creativity through advanced technology, and the response has been absolutely remarkable. It’s been incredible to see fans unlock fresh ideas and unique expressions, all while deepening their connection with both brands.”
“Now that we’re down to the final 10, it’s clear that AI has opened up an exciting new space for collaboration between us and our audience. It’s especially rewarding to see how it enables anyone, regardless of design experience, to express their creativity in ways they might not have imagined before.
“We look forward to seeing how these designs and this technology continue to inspire innovation and lead the way toward more engaging experiences with our community.”
Powered by the AI co-creation platform ‘DEEPOBJECTS’, the Puma AI Creator tool is a first-of-its-kind fan activation that saw more than 180,000 kits designed by City supporters using text prompting, customisation tools and intuitive sliders.
The AI tool has already seen one of its curated kits worn by players. Last Saturday during its away fixture against Aston Villa, Manchester City Women’s team showcased a Puma AI Creator goalkeeper worn on the pitch for the first time.
Also last Saturday, another AI created kit designed by City first team men’s players Ederson, Stefan Ortega and Rico Lewis launched in City Stores across Manchester for a limited time only.
Speaking on the AI-generated goalkeeper shirt during the launch event for PUMA AI Creator in December, Ederson said: “It’s the first time I’ve designed a shirt together with Stefan and Rico and I’m so happy I’ll get to see our shirt on the pitch. It looks amazing – the colours are so nice, they remind me of the colours of Brazil.”
The winning PUMA AI Creator fan design will be revealed in summer 2026. Fans can keep up to date with all PUMA Manchester City kit launches via official club and PUMA channels.
