The Legends Charity Game, a high-profile football event set for September 15, 2025 in Lisbon, has announced a strategic media partnership with Ringier Sports Media Group (RSMG), one of Europe’s fastest growing and most innovative sports media companies.

The event will unite football legends from Portugal – captained by Luis Figo and managed by Costinha – and a World Legends team led by Peter Schmeichel. It aims to raise over $1.14m (€1m) for key humanitarian causes, including the Ukrainian Red Cross Society and Cáritas Portuguesa.

The match is expected to draw 60,000 fans at a premier Lisbon venue – either Estádio da Luz or José Alvalade – and reach millions more via global broadcast and streaming.

Under the partnership, RSMG will deliver comprehensive coverage across editorial, video, and audio channels. Fans can expect behind-the-scenes content, player interviews, live match reporting, and post-game highlights across RSMG’s international platforms. This ensures dynamic storytelling that connects audiences worldwide.

The collaboration will maximise the reach of A BOLA in Portugal, as well as other RSMG brands across Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia, Netherlands, Switzerland, Hungary, and Slovakia.

Stilian Shishkov, Senior Partner at RSMG

“At RSMG, we exist to bring the passion of sport to life. Partnering with the Legends Charity Game is a powerful opportunity to harness that passion for good — by amplifying the stories, the players, and the causes that matter most,” says Stilian Shishkov, Senior Partner at RSMG.

Rasmus Sojmark, CEO & Founder of SBC Events and Sport Global Group, which organises the Legends Charity Game, added: “RSMG’s reach, and journalistic excellence make them a perfect partner to help us elevate the event’s message globally and drive support for vital humanitarian efforts.”

Headquartered in Zofingen, Switzerland, RSMG runs eight national sports media brands across Europe, including A BOLA (Portugal), Sportal Media Group in Bulgaria, gsp.ro, Sportal.rs, Sportal.hu, Sport.sk, Sportal.gr, and Sportnieuws.nl. The group is known for its local brand strength, expert editorial teams, and innovative tech strategy.

This partnership strengthens the Legends Charity Game’s media reach and reinforces its identity as both a premier charity event and a global storytelling platform aligned with RSMG’s mission to innovate in sports media.
