Southampton ‘sure’ of new training sponsor

Southampton FC have unveiled Sure as its new 2020/21 Official Training Kit Partner, for the first-team and B team.

The anti-perspirant brand’s logo will appear on the front of Saints’ training kit, and in and around St Mary’s Stadium, on LED boards and press backdrops.

Director of Marketing and Partnerships at Southampton Football Club, Sarah Batters, commented: “We are proud to be partnering once more with Sure, a brand that shares the club’s commitment to innovation.

“They have a strong record of success for over 50 years and, like us, they believe in promoting a healthy, active lifestyle.”

The club and company will aim to inspire “people to move more at a time when physical and mental wellbeing plays a vital part in daily life” through the agreement, the statement insinuated.

Alice Duffill, Sure UK’s Senior Brand Manager, said: “We are thrilled to be adding three top Premier League clubs to our growing list of football partners. Football is by far the most watched sport in the UK and continues to give fans a boost, even during the most difficult of times.

“The sport is a key passion point for our target audience, and we hope we can utilise our partnerships to encourage people to move more to live more, making every moment matter.”

The Unilever brand, which has agreed a similar deal with Wolverhampton Wanderers, had previously united with the Premier League side between 2016 and 2018 as part of the ‘NeverMoreSure’ campaign, and the two have re-established a partnership for the current campaign.
