Miguel Angel Leal has been appointed the CEO of LaLiga Tech, an entity which aims to enhance digital transformation in the sports space, with the new hire tasked with driving the firm’s business development.

As CEO, Leal will be primarily responsible for overseeing the global growth or LaLiga Tech, as the company seeks to expand its client base in the sports and entertainment industries, having currently secured the Royal Belgian Football Association (RBFA), the Belgian Jupiler Pro League, Dorna Sports and Sky Mexico as clients.

Additionally, LaLiga Tech’s single data-based ecosystem has also been leveraged by the club’s Spain’s LaLiga and its club’s offer the past five years, whilst the firm also offers a ‘wide range’ of other solutions to sports organisations ‘as a new commercial offering’.

“It is an exciting time to join the sports and entertainment industry as the role of technology is becoming increasingly essential for engaging fans, improving content and managing competitions,” Leal remarked.

“LaLiga Tech has a unique offering and extensive industry experience which I am confident will help organisations of all sizes accelerate their digital transformation.”

Prior to joining LaLiga Tech, Leal gained experience of corporate leadership in the B2B technology and telecommunications sectors, having held the positions of Enterprise Business Director at Huawei Technologies and Corporate Managing Director at Teldat.

His career has seen him collaborate on projects focusing on digital transformation, internationalisation, increasing profitability through business growth and streaminglining operational and financial processes.
