The European Tour group has signed a deal with Sky Italia for the 2023 Ryder Cup and DP World Tour events broadcast on a new dedicated channel – Sky Sport Golf.

Fans in Italy will be able to watch 35 live DP World Tour events, including all four Majors and golf’s ‘greatest team contest’ – the Ryder Cup – on both Sky Italia and streamed via NOW.

“Excitement is growing in Italy as the country prepares to host its first Ryder Cup in 2023, and we are delighted to partner with Sky Sport to ensure Italian fans can enjoy golf’s greatest team contest, as well as DP World Tour events from around the world,” said Keith Pelley, Chief Executive of the DP World Tour.

The channel will launch on 12 January 2023, prior to the Hero Cup in Abu Dhabi (a new team competition that will see Great Britain and Ireland taking on Continental Europe).

Marzio Perrelli, Executive Vice President of Sport for Sky, added: “We are extremely proud to expand our Home of Sport with a dedicated golf channel, that on top of many prestigious golf events, will also bring to our customers the Ryder Cup held in Italy for the first time.

“We will showcase this prestigious sport with the usual ‘Sky Sport touch’, that distinguishes all the events that we broadcast. A dedicated golf channel will add value to the overall Italian golf sector, supporting the growth of a sport that is also an Olympic discipline.”

Furthermore, Sky Sport Golf will show DP World Tour tournaments across the 2023, 2024 and 2025 seasons, including the Italian Open.

It will also show the 2023 Ryder Cup, which will be played in Italy for the first time when Marco Simone Golf and Country Club in Rome hosts the biennial contest between Europe and the US from 26 September – 1 October next year.
