Serbian basketball team KK Crvena zvezda has inked a sponsorship deal with southeast Europe bookmaker, Meridianbet.

The Euroleague side – Serbia’s basketball champions – will place Meridianbet branding on its shirts, as well as naming the operator its official betting partner giving it a prominent presence at all home games.

KK Crvena zvezda revealed that the sponsorship marks a ‘major achievement for the club, as it continues to build on its success in the Euroleague.

“With the support of Meridianbet, the club will be able to further enhance its performance on and off the court, as it strives to achieve even greater heights in the world of basketball,” it stated.

Furthermore, the partnership is said to represent the largest sponsorship ever secured by a private company in the history of the sport.

Additionally, the company will aim to leverage its communication channels to promote the club and engage with its passionate fan base, both in ABA and Euroleague. The team is now also commonly referred to as KK Crvena zvezda Meridianbet.

“This partnership is a natural fit for Meridianbet,” a statement from the firm read. “By partnering with KK Crvena zvezda, Meridianbet is able to further cement its commitment to the sports industry and contribute to the growth and development of basketball in the region.”

Meridianbet has been operating in the EU, South America, and African markets for over 10 years, whilst holding partnerships with more than 20 football and basketball clubs.
