Argentinian football giant Boca Juniors has signed a new shirt sponsorship deal with US broadcaster DirecTV and its Latin America division.

Having been agreed upon to last until the end of 2025, the signing will see DirecTV’s logo placed on the back of the Argentinian Primera División club’s shirt under each player’s number.

It was also stated that sustainability and social responsibility will be a primary focus of the collaboration, aiming to improve the life quality of the most vulnerable social groups in the regions where DirecTV is present.

Darío Werthein, President of Vrio Corp – DirecTV’s parent company,  said: “We support sports with the best programming of sports events and content in the region and we also promote it with direct sponsorship agreements and social impact actions from our sustainability area.

“It is with pride that we have joined a team as powerful as Boca that arouses the passion of multitudes in Argentina and across the world.”

Additionally, there is still some free real estate to be claimed on Boca’s jerseys after their agreement with their main shirt sponsor, Qatar Airways, came to an end in June of last year.

Currently, the team has additional sponsorship deals with Adidas, Gatorade, Quilmes and Via Barlioche.
