New Zealand Rugby scores adidas deal extension

New Zealand Rugby (NZR) and adidas have continued their partnership that will see the team keeping their three-stripes-branded uniforms.

The renewed apparel deal, part of a long-lasting collaboration between the two dating back to 1999, secures the supply of adidas playing kits, boots, and footwear to all NZR teams, including All Blacks, Black Ferns, All Blacks Sevens, Black Ferns Sevens, Māori All Blacks, All Blacks XV, New Zealand Under 20’s, and Heartland XV, with playing kit, apparel, boots, and footwear.

NZR Chief Executive Mark Robinson commented: “Adidas has always been a valued long-term partner and this renewal is an endorsement of their commitment and shared passion for NZR and our Teams in Black.

“We have seen huge successes across our teams during the past 24 years and shared in the excitement of Rugby World Cup success across both the All Blacks and Black Ferns. We hold a shared belief in the power of sport, at the highest level to bring people together.

“Our teams embody what is great about sport and alongside adidas, we can maximise opportunities to innovate through sport performance, while also engaging and reaching our fans on a global scale.”

Since the partnership between NZR and adidas started in 1999, the Black Ferns have gone on to become World Champions five times. The New Zealand Under 20’s have won six World Rugby Championship titles in their age group and two U19 Rugby World Championships.

Bjørn Gulden, CEO of adidas, commented: “We are very proud to continue our successful partnership with New Zealand Rugby and all Teams in Black. We had many fantastic moments together over the past 24 years and we will create many more, starting with the Rugby World Cup in France later this year.”
