LIV Golf has named Ilana Finley as its new Chief Communications Officer, responsible for overseeing all global communications for the league.

In her new position, Finley will oversee both external and internal communications for the league and its 13 teams, manage communications for LIV Golf’s global events and The International Series, as well as support the organisation’s ongoing growth and influence both on and off the golf course.

Commenting on her new role, Finley said: “I’m excited to join the team at LIV Golf as the League continues to break new ground in the world of sports and entertainment. Throughout my career, I’ve had the chance to drive impactful storytelling with global brands that are committed to building connections with diverse audiences by thinking boldly and being unafraid to take chances, and LIV Golf is doing just that.

“This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and I’m thrilled to help champion the League’s commitment to innovation, creativity and teamwork while making a positive impact around the world.”

Finley comes to LIV Golf from her role as Vice President of Global Communications and Social Impact at Converse, where she managed all external and internal communications and developed corporate giving strategies aimed at increasing access and opportunities for underserved communities while fostering partnerships within those communities.

Before joining Converse, Finley spent 18 years at Nike, where she held various communications roles that covered nearly all facets of the business. She directed strategic communications for Nike’s Olympic initiatives, served as Communications Director for the Central and Eastern Europe region and led efforts in Nike’s Emerging Markets across Central and South America, Africa, Asia, Australia and New Zealand.

Additionally, she was the Integrated Communications Director for the Nike Foundation, overseeing advocacy programs that supported girls in developing countries throughout Africa, India and South America.

Greg Norman, LIV Golf Commissioner and CEO, stated: “Ilana is uniquely prepared to help LIV Golf continue its positive momentum into 2025 and beyond. She knows firsthand the challenges and opportunities that exist when growing a global brand and she understands how to align competition, culture and entertainment to deliver a product that fans embrace.

“Ilana is a skilled leader and communicator with a sincere passion for positively impacting teams and communities around the world, and LIV Golf is proud to have her on board.”

The League enters the offseason as it gears up for February 2025, when it will launch its third official campaign in global markets across Asia, Australia and the Middle East. This season will be available to viewers on the Spanish subscription platform Movistar Plus+, following a deal struck earlier this year.
