Bookmaker Paddy Power will return with the The Big 180 initiative for this year’s 2024/25 World Darts Championship in partnership with Prostate Cancer UK

The Irish bookmaker revealed that it brought back the initiative following its successful introduction last year, with this year’s charitable campaign now titled ‘The BIGGER 180’.

The BIGGER 180 will continue where it left off last year by donating £1,000 to Prostate Cancer UK for every 180 scored during the upcoming World Darts Championship. There will also be a £180,000 bonus that will be split equally between Prostate Cancer UK, the player who performs the perfect leg and a fan selected at random from the crowd at that moment.

A Paddy Power statement said: “We’re buzzing to bring The BIGGER 180 to this year’s Paddy Power World Darts Championship. Last year’s campaign was an absolute triumph, raising over £1 million and proving just how powerful darts can be in making a difference.

“This time, we’re stepping it up with a £180,000 bonus for every nine-darter – split between Prostate Cancer UK, the players, and the fans who make Ally Pally magic. It’s darts, it’s drama, and it’s saving lives – what more could you ask for?”

The Big 180 campaign raised £1m last year in support of Prostate Cancer UK after 914 180’s were hit, as Paddy Power rounded up the final donation to the nearest seven-figure sum.

Paddy Power has been helping to fund Prostate Cancer UK to raise awareness amongst men to test and check their prostate to avoid any potential risks of cancer.

Prostate Cancer UK has also used the funds from last year to trial its TRANSFORM screening technology, able to diagnose and accurately screen for any potential risks.

Laura Kerby, Chief Executive of Prostate Cancer UK, said: “We’re absolutely delighted to team up with Paddy Power again for The BIGGER 180. Last year’s campaign was a staggering success – raising an incredible £1m, getting record numbers checking their risk and making a huge impact for men and their loved ones.

“With The BIGGER 180, we’re aiming to reach even more men right across the UK. And the funds we raise along the way will help us move one step closer to a future where all men are invited for regular, accurate tests – which could save thousands of lives.”

Matt Porter, Professional Darts Corporation Chief Executive, added: “The BIG 180 was darts’ biggest-ever charity partnership and it’s exciting to see this grow even further for the 2024/25 Paddy Power World Darts Championship.

“The BIGGER 180 will directly benefit the TRANSFORM trial, and given the amazing standard produced by players during 2024, we could not only see a record number of 180s hit during the event but also multiple nine-darters.”
