Basketball England, the UK governing body for basketball, appointed PTI to transform its digital infrastructure last Sunday (27 April).
PTI, a technology strategy consultancy, will collaborate with Basketball England to support its ongoing digital transformation efforts by focusing on developing its websites, as well as its memberships, licensing and competition platforms.
Basketball England will initially look to PTI to integrate a new technology stack that supports and grows its commercial and operational objectives, with an eye on membership and licensing.
As the partnership progresses, PTI will lead the overall integration of Basketball England’s entire data technology state and business areas with its expertise in building out digital infrastructure that support commercial growth.
Stewart Kellett, CEO of Basketball England, said: “Engagement and interactions with our various stakeholders has made it clear that we need technology platforms that can deliver on the ever-evolving demands of our various audiences, and make us more streamlined as an organisation.
“PTI has a strong track record of supporting leading rights-holders, including in the national governing body space, to do exactly this.”
A focus on continued digital transformation
Last year, Basketball England helped develop a major project alongside British Cycling, the Digital Transformation Roadmap, which PTI also assisted in building.
PTI helps clients generate revenue and ensure cost saving measures by building commercial strategies and designing and deploying technology infrastructures.
As a vendor-agnostic consultancy– which includes other clients such as Arsenal FC, Oakview Group, Ascot, Ashton Gate and CBS Arena – PTI aims to expand sporting digital infrastructures to support digital growth.
Ben Wells, CEO of PTI Digital, added: “Having the right technology and right technology strategy is now critical for every rights-holder in the sports industry, and Basketball England’s member clubs, players and staff will see a game-changing impact of a new tech stack across key areas of the organisation.
“We’re delighted to be working with Basketball England and believe our expertise in technology solutions will have a tangible impact on the sport.”
