Bookmaker SportPesa has continued to build on its flourishing partnership with Arsenal, launching its latest African football initiative ‘Coaches to Count On’.
As part of the collaboration, SportPesa will develop ‘football clinics’, utilising the beautiful game to benefit those across its core markets of Kenya, Tanzania and South Africa, with The Gunners developing comprehensive training programmes for aspiring soccer coaches.
Kelvin Twissa, Chief Marketing Officer at SportPesa commented on the new initiative: “SportPesa has a proud history of supporting grassroots sport globally and we’re delighted to announce this new scheme which uses our growing network to help develop the next generation of football coaches.
“Our Kits for Africa campaign demonstrate our commitment to inspiring budding footballers on the continent and we hope this initiative serves to continue that progress.”
The bookmaker has kicked off ‘Coaches to Count On’, with Arsenal acclaimed coaching staff visiting South Africa to host a three-day training course helping local coaches.
‘Coaches to Count On’ follows SportPesa’s 2018 social initiative ‘Kits for Africa’, in which EPL partners Southampton FC and Hull City donated over 75,000 pieces of football kit and equipment to African sports clubs.
SportPesa has been Arsenal’s African betting partner since 2016, the operator has enjoyed a strong relationship with the North London club, having donated its Arsenal Emirates Stadium hospitality suite to local charities and social enterprises.
The Football Association of Ireland also recently announced a two-year-deal with SportPesa, that will see SportPesa, licensed in Ireland, become the FAI’s latest commercial partner.
