Premier League makes YouTube debut ahead of new season

Ahead of the new season, the English Premier League is looking to deepen online engagement with the launch of its official YouTube channel.

The channel began its existence, building anticipation towards the upcoming season by putting out a host of goal compilation videos from each of the league’s sides, as well as a highlights video for ever season of the league.

Moving forward, the League’s official YouTube channel will enrich the Premier League fan experience, with a host of exclusive and unique videos reflecting the exciting and competitive nature of the competition.

With the 2019/20 campaign starting on Friday, YouTube.com/PremierLeague will build excitement around the season’s fixtures, looking back at the best moments from previous meetings between teams.

The channel will also tell the story of the Premier League using archive footage in new and compelling ways, providing thrilling highlights of the key players and matches in Premier League history.

Beyond the action on the pitch, the channel will provide a platform to showcase and promote initiatives of both clubs and the league, as well as broadcasting the work conducted by club academies and community teams.

Following its launch, the channel experienced significant growth almost immediately gaining more than 150,000 subscribers in a little over 48 hours, a number that is expected to grow as the season commences.

The Premier League season gets underway on Friday evening, with European champions, Liverpool taking on last season’s Championship winners, Norwich City.
