Commercial Bank has strengthened its ties with the Qatar Golf Association, extending its sponsorship of the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters for a 14th consecutive year.

The Commercial Bank Qatar Masters is an annual golf tournament that is part of the European Tour. Many of the world’s top golfers compete on Doha Golf Club’s challenging desert-style championship course, which is one of the longest par 72 courses on the tour.

Joseph Abraham, Group CEO of Commercial Bank, commented: “The Commercial Bank Qatar Masters is one of the country’s premier sporting events that attracts a global TV audience and international visitors to Qatar. We are delighted to once again sponsor this tournament in support of Qatar’s National Vision of being a world-class venue for sport, promoting healthy lifestyles, and bringing members of the Qatari community together.”

Abraham was joined by Fahad Nasser Al Naimi, General Secretary of Qatar Golf Association at a signing ceremony to formalize the agreement at Commercial Bank Plaza.

Fahad Al Naimi, General Secretary of Qatar Golf Association, added: “On behalf of the Qatar Golf Association, we are truly grateful for the contribution made by Commercial Bank throughout the years which has helped us position the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters as a significant world-class golf event.”

As part of the extension, the sponsorship will enable the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters to offer not only a world-class sporting tournament to visitors, but also a range of exciting hospitality and entertainment activities such as restaurants, music performances, and shopping areas.

On the sides of the sporting action, the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters has over the years become part of Qatar’s social fabric, offering a wonderful day out with family and friends in the beautiful surroundings of Doha Golf Club.

The pair also maintained that corporate social responsibility will remain an integral part of Commercial Bank’s business, in line with its support of the human development pillar of the Qatar National Vision 2030, which aims to promote a healthy population both physically and mentally. As such, the Bank is proud to again support this must-attend event in Qatar’s social calendar that is loved by so many of Qatar’s community.
