AS Roma has announced Edison Energia as the club’s new official energy partner, with the agreement looking to boost the Serie A side’s sustainable energy solutions.

These solutions, which will be collaboratively developed by Roma and Edison Energia for the club and its fans, will specifically be implemented throughout its offices and stores in Italy, including installations at the side’s training ground.

Francesco Calvo, the club’s Chief Operating Officer stated: “We are incredibly proud to have signed this agreement with one of the main players in sustainable energy, not just in Italy but in Europe.

“Among the many reasons why the club wanted Edison Energia to join the family was the shared focus on sustainable energy solutions, along with the many great offers the partner can provide to our fans.”

The agreement also sees Edison Energia become part of the club’s ‘Easy Mobility‘ campaign which helps supporters get to the Stadio Olimpico on matchdays in increasingly safer and energy-efficient ways.

“We are proud to support an iconic club like Roma, and join the team and its fans on a journey towards sustainability,” added Massimo Quaglini, administrator for Edison Energia.

“Edison Energia is putting its expertise at the disposal of the club and its fans, to create a ‘team’ that can make concrete strides towards building a sustainable future for all with a better quality of life.”

Roma’s latest partnership highlights the club’s ambition to boost its sustainability during matchdays. Along with the Easy Mobility and Edison Energia the Serie A side also partnered with electric scooter sharing service eCooltra last December offering the firm’s service to the team’s stadium during matchdays with promotional codes.

Insider Insight: The partnership between Edison Energia and Roma will benefit both entities in the long term. Not only will Roma’s reputation be boosted by implementing more sustainable solutions but also Edison Energia’s profile will be increased due to being partnered with a well-recognised European football club.
