England Rugby League has signed UK bookmaker Betfred as an official partner to England’s Men’s, Women’s and Wheelchair teams for 2021, covering the upcoming edition of the Rugby League World Cup (RLWC).
As part of the agreement, players will sport the Betfred logo on the lower back area of all squad’s jerseys throughout 2021.
The bookmaker, founded by Fred Done in 1967, secured the title sponsorship of rugby league’s top tier, the Super League, in 2017 – a deal which was extended by a further two years in May 2019, marking Betfred’s multi-million pound investment in the competition.
Betfred also landed deals with the Championship, League 1 and the Women’s Super League.
“Following our very successful association with Rugby League at all levels in recent years, Betfred are delighted to become an official partner of the England Men’s, Women’s and Wheelchair teams for the Rugby League World Cup in 2021,” Betfred Owner Done announced.
"I'm so proud to sponsor."

The Men’s Rugby League World Cup gets underway on 23 October, when England host Samoa at St James’ Park, whilst the Women open the tournament at Emerald Headingley against Brazil on 9 November.
England’s Wheelchair Rugby League World Cup campaign commences on 11 November against Australia at the Copper Box Arena in London’s Olympic Park.
Mark Foster, the RFL’s Chief Commercial Officer, added: “Betfred have been outstanding sponsors for Rugby League for the last four years, and it’s fantastic that they will now extend that support to our England teams in 2021.
“It’s such an exciting time for our Men’s, Women’s and Wheelchair teams as they prepare to play World Cups on home soil.”
