UK boxing promotion BOXXER has announced a partnership with Betfred, making the sportsbook its official partner in an all-Manchester collaboration.
As part of the agreement, the boxing promotion will incorporate Betfred into all its events. This includes branding on the centre ring, ropes, corners and toblerones, as well as mentions by the MC during live broadcasts.
Additionally, there will be screen and LED branding and each BOXXER show will feature a highly competitive match presented as the Betfred Fight of the Night.
Ben Shalom, Founder and CEO of BOXXER, commented: “We’re delighted to welcome Betfred as BOXXER’s new Partner. A respected, household name and born out of Greater Manchester like BOXXER, the synergies between the two brands are clear-to-see.
“We look forward to a long and fruitful partnership with Betfred, commencing with a fantastic night of boxing this Saturday at the Copper Box, headlined by one of world boxing’s forthcoming superstars in Adam Azim.”
Furthermore, Betfred will play a significant role in pre-promotional activities leading up to BOXXER events, with visibility across all digital platforms and physical materials at press conferences, open workouts and weigh-ins.
To enhance the partnership, various social and digital content initiatives will be launched, including video betting previews, editorial articles, co-branded content series and graphics focused on odds
As mentioned by Shalom, the partnership begins with BOXXER’s next event (19 October), live on Sky Sports from the Copper Box Arena in East London. Adam Azim will face off against experienced former world title challenger Ohara Davies in a super-lightweight clash.
Fred Done, Owner of Betfred, remarked: “We are passionate about sport at Betfred and I’ve always loved boxing. That’s why I’m delighted to sign a partnership with BOXXER and we are looking forward to working with Ben and the team. It will be great to see Betfred back on Sky Sports Boxing.”
In line with this recent partnership, earlier this year, BOXXER pursued its commercial strategy by collaborating with Car Finance 247, a local business in North West England. This approach appears to be part of a broader plan to compete with established promotions like Queensberry and Matchroom.
In February, Shalom spoke to Insider Sport about finding the right partners for boxing’s global growth.
