Three time National Basketball League (NBA) champions the Philadelphia 76ers have signed a multi-year partnership with Verizon.
The agreement will see Verizon become the team’s official mobile 5G sponsor as well as presenting partner of the 76ers official mobile app.
Customers of Verizon’s loyalty programme Verizon Up will also have the opportunity to claim 76ers prizes and VIP experiences, such as pre-game courtside access and match tickets when spectators return to the stadiums.
76ers Chief Revenue Officer, Katie O’Reilly, stated: “We are excited to partner with Verizon, a leader in technology, to deliver new fan experiences in the 76ers team app as well as 5G capabilities.
“As the official presenting partner of the app and an exclusive mobile partner, Verizon will usher us into a new era of innovation by using their technology to help us connect and engage with our fans.
“We are especially excited to collaborate on their Verizon Up customer loyalty programme and see their brand and customers come to life at future 76ers games.”
The new agreement will see new games and fan downloads and other 76ers related content become available to fans via the team’s app.
A “GameDay” page will also be introduced, featuring game stats such as shot charts, box scores, play by play information and more, whilst a “fans” page includes interactive games with 76ers prizes.
The 2020-21 NBA season started in the last week of December with its highest viewership figures in eight years. The 76ers record in the season so far stands at nine wins and four losses.
