StatsBomb has been named as an official data provider for the Tournoi Maurice Revello and the Sud Ladies’ Cup.

The partnership looks to create a ‘data-driven picture’ of every player at the football tournaments, with StatsBomb analysing performances using a variety of metrics, including Expected Goals (xG), Pressures by Player and Team, Pass Footedness, On-Ball Value (OBV) and Pass Height.

Alain Revello, President of Maurice Revello Tournament, commented: “We’re excited about the partnership with StatsBomb. They can collect data on the best young talents in world football at a level of quality and granularity that’s unmatched by any other provider.”

Additionally, the UK-based sports data business has revealed that it will use its data collection technology, which combines Computer Vision, manual data capture and AI, to collect over 3,400 events per game and generate ‘detailed insights’ about each competing team.

Alex Taylor, Sales Executive at StatsBomb, added: “We are delighted to announce our partnership with The Tournoi Maurice Revello and The Sud Ladies Cup. To be part of such prestigious tournaments is a privilege for StatsBomb.”

“Our data might help to uncover the next rising star to follow in the footsteps of the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Thierry Henry, Alan Shearer and many others.”

In a further expansion of StatsBomb’s presence in professional football, Newcastle United partnered with the football analytics specialist earlier this year which now, similarly, also serves as the team’s official data and analytics provider.

The Premier League side integrates StatsBomb’s advanced event data and IQ platform into its recruitment and performance analysis departments.
