A new darts competition makes its debut tomorrow in the UK featuring top international players such as Fallon Sherrock, Martin Adams and Robert Thornton.

The MODUS Super Series, created by events and management company MODUS, will be held at a purpose-built location in Portsmouth with over £1m in player prize money each year.

The competition will see over 30 hours of streamed matches made available to mainstream bookmakers Monday to Saturday each week.

Billy Lovell, a spokesperson for MODUS, said: “Darts is a sport with global appeal and a hugely passionate following. The addition of the MODUS Super Series to the calendar guarantees must-watch action as a far larger number of players will now feature regularly at the top level.

“They will also gain crucial experience in front of a TV and live audience, potentially earning prize money that could bridge the gap to going full-time pro.

“The MODUS Super Series’ addition to the betting calendar also ensures bookmakers will have access to first-rate darts content available six days a week, and with conveniently planned timings, it acts as the ideal complement to their traditional schedule.”

With ‘strategically timed content’ running Morning and Evening Sessions, the MODUS Super Series brings content for bookmakers that does not clash with popular football timings or other major sporting events.

Furthermore, the tournament has also partnered with iGame Media to access its technical delivery and broadcast capabilities, in its efforts to provide ‘Ultra Low Latency’ streaming and HD content.

“iGame Media are delighted to collaborate on the MODUS Super Series in delivering sophisticated technical solutions to the sportsbook and broadcast space, allowing us to bring to market a truly agile and real-time streaming and data solution,” said Chris Cousin, iGame Media Commercial Director.

The Super Series is open to non-PDC Tour Card holders over the age of 18 and legends from the sport, with Lisa Ashton, Jarred Cole, Neil Duff, Kevin Painter, Mikuru Suzuki and Thibault Tricole, among others.

Fallon Sherrock added: “There is a real buzz among the players about the launch of the MODUS Super Series. It’s an amazing venue and the Series will increase competition among non-PDC Tour Card holders, bringing the chance to regularly play at a higher level for significant prize money.”
