Digital sports card company OWNIC has launched an NFT sports trading platform which allows collectors to own and share parts of the athlete’s success in their field with a new Web3 experience.

OWNIC states that they are on a “mission to revolutionise the sports collectibles market by introducing dynamic, customisable and rewarding collectibles” which translates a player’s real-life performance onto each digital card, retaining and growing in value over a period of time.

The platform already boasts a roster of recognisable sporting talent from various sports, including Juventus players Leonardo Bonucci and Nicola Fagioli, along with the entire SL Benfica squad, as well as UFC fighters Glover Texeira and Alex Pereira

This latest announcement will enable users to engage in an “immersive collecting experience”, following the Serie A players’ journeys through a “dynamic and interactive digital platform that will revolutionise the collection industry”.

CEO of OWNIC, Jaba Dolidze, commented: “We are delighted to welcome Serie A stars to the OWNIC platform, and are excited for our users who are now able to collect, trade and earn these dynamic player cards.

“This latest card drop is extremely exciting for the OWNIC community as it will feature some of Europe’s hottest talents and high-profile names.”

OWNIC utilises blockchain technology so that collectors can own a piece of their favourite athletes’ success, with the cards able to track players’ performance in real-time using OWNIC’s own XP-based value system.

The system measures and stores value on a card based on athlete performance and collector engagement throughout the athlete’s career, with the performance reflected in the XP of the NFT.
