FIFA launches ITT in Austria and Switzerland for the 2026 World Cup

Invitations to tender (ITT) have been launched in both Austria and Switzerland for the sale of the FIFA World Cup 2026 media rights.

With the 2022 edition of the competition enjoying record-breaking audience numbers, the upcoming tournament is guaranteed to try to achieve an even bigger commercial success.

FIFA World Cup 2026 will be jointly hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico, which will ensure that supporters enjoy a variety of iconic venues and a wealth of experiences to celebrate the global game of football.

Austria managed to qualify for the event during the UEFA EURO 2021 and will look to tackle the final for the first time since 1998. Switzerland on the other hand has regularly taken part at recent FIFA World Cups.

The tender process will grant a select number of Austrian and Swiss media companies to broadcast the FIFA World Cup in their respective countries. Applications are open until May 16, 2023, and all the proceedings from the finalised contracts will go towards supporting and developing the global FIFA infrastructure.

Companies can submit their applications either on [email protected] or [email protected]
