Newcastle United has named FUN88 its official Asian betting partner in a multi-year deal from the 2023/2024 season onwards.

The gambling brand is moved from the role of principal sponsor of the club, having held the position since the beginning of the 2017/18 campaign.

It has built strong ties with the Premier League side, with its logo featured on the front of the Magpies’ kits and training wear for six seasons.

George Harborne, Director of Sponsorships at SBC, spoke of the announcement bringing an end to the long term main partnership.

“It reflects the on pitch success and commercial ambition of the club under its new ownership with rumours circulating of a significant financial uplift to a new £25m a year main partner deal,” he said.

“The partnership between the two has been hugely successful, and the ambition of both parties to continue a relationship with FUN88 taking the role of Asian Betting Partner demonstrates the positive relationship between the operator and Premier League side.”

The top-flight side detailed that the partnership will continue to support the club’s commercial growth in Asia through FUN88 offering in-market initiatives, official club merchandise and VIP experiences for supporters.

“The club thanks FUN88 for its support over the past six campaigns and looks forward to working together over coming seasons,” Newcastle United concluded in a statement.

The news comes not long after the decision of Premier League clubs to reduce the coverage of gambling sponsorships by unanimously agreeing to remove betting brands from the front of their matchday shirts from the 2026/27 campaign.
