FC Internazionale Milano has announced a new sponsorship deal with air travel provider Qatar Airways

The partnership, in which the airline becomes the Italian club’s Official Global Airline Partner, was announced at Inter’s home game against Frosinone with an event that saw San Siro’s towers lit up with the Qatar Airways colours, as well as a team of cabin crew personnel that welcomed players and supporters to the stadium.

Inside Inter’s home grounds, the hospitality areas were also fitted accordingly to honour the team’s new partner, with materials and images relating to the airline brand.

Meanwhile, fans had the opportunity to see a 3D video-mapping show projected on the pitch prior to kick-off.

Qatar Airways has had a long-standing relationship with football, having recently concluded a reported £21m-per-year deal with German Bundesliga champions FC Bayern Munich in June after being the club’s shirt sleeve sponsor for three years.

The airline’s home country also received global attention as it hosted the FIFA World Cup 2022 where Argentina lifted its third world title after a tense face-off against France in the final.
