UEFA has announced that Qatar Airways is now the official airline partner of all UEFA men’s national team competitions.
The sponsorship, extending the previous partnership for UEFA Euro 2020, kicked off with the current UEFA Euro 2024, which began on 14 June.
Qatar Airways’ history with the tournament dates back to 2020, when the airline served as the official airline partner of UEFA Euro 2020. This year marks the 17th edition of the tournament, which will stage 51 matches across 10 cities in Germany, with an expected attendance of 2.5 million guests and fans.
Badr Mohammed Al-Meer, Chief Executive Officer at Qatar Airways Group, said: “We are delighted to partner with UEFA. As the official airline partner of the men’s national competitions, Qatar Airways is committed to bringing thousands of fans to Germany for this prestigious event.”
In addition to the partnership, Qatar Airways is launching a new gateway in Hamburg, Germany, expanding its extensive network that connects over 170 destinations worldwide. The airline has stated that it is excited to give customers greater access to five destinations in Germany and 49 destinations across Europe.
The national carrier of the State of Qatar already has an extensive portfolio of sponsorships within football, being the official airline of FIFA, The Asian Football Confederation, PSG and FC Internazionale Milano.
Badr Mohammed Al-Meer added: “This partnership underscores our dedication to connecting people across our extensive network of over 170 destinations. With the addition of Hamburg to our operations from 1 July 2024, we are further enhancing our commitment to the region and supporting this exciting tournament.”
