Welcoming the Argentine national football team to Miami for the Copa Àmerica tournament, Sergio Agüero has made a bold claim about the team in partnership with Stake.
The Stake Ambassador took to social media in a new marketing campaign with the online casino to send a message to the rest of the Copa Àmerica competitors that “The GOAT’s have arrived”.
Agüero, who made 101 appearances and scored 41 goals for Argentina, worked alongside Stake and Press Box PR on the “one-of-a-kind” marketing campaign as he was pictured with two live goats in reference to the Argentine team and Lionel Messi being the Greatest Of All Time (GOAT).
The image of Agüero overlooking Biscayne Bay with the two goats has already garnered one million likes on Instagram, as well as attracting more than nine million impressions. It is now the second most liked ‘SoMe’ post in Stake’s history.
“Stake are not only leaders in entertainment, but also break records, as it was in this campaign. I like participating in their marketing campaigns as they are creative and fun, and value their ambition with the Latín American market,” said Agüero.
“There’s a big expat community in Miami of Argentinians, and many other Latin Americans who support our side.
“With Leo (Messi) playing in the local Inter, that sentiment grows even more. But there are a lot of Mexicans, Colombians, Venezuelans too,” he added.
This year’s Copa Àmerica tournament is of great significance to both the Argentine team and Stake.
Messi and co are looking to retain the trophy they won in 2021 and achieve the rare feat of winning three international tournaments consecutively, after winning the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
This recent success has led Agüero backing the current national squad as one of the greatest in the country’s history, and with Copa America being held in the US this year, both Argentina and Stake will hope to score big in the competition.
For Stake, the tournament represents an opportunity to expand its operations and visibility across the Latin American region. The casino operator most recently launched a new hub in Bogotà, Colombia this year after launching in the country.
The company has also expressed its desire to hire more talent from LatAm to complement its expansion plans.
Dom Rae, Sponsorship Manager at Stake, said: “Stake’s fanbase is just as passionate as supporters of the Argentina national team. We want to create an intrinsic connection with our players, and it’s rewarding to see such an overwhelmingly positive reaction to this totally unique campaign online.
“We are glad to have one of the Greatest of All Time as part of the Stake family, with Sergio as a Stake Ambassador.”
