Cricket South Africa (CSA) is looking to maximise its exposure via a data rights deal with IMG Arena, the sports data and streaming division of OpenBet.

IMG Arena will connect data for CSA domestic and international matches across men’s and women’s test andT20 fixtures, as well as men’s four-day, 50 over and T20 games.

The company will distribute data and match streams to over 460 regulated sportsbook operators globally. CSA, like many other prominent sporting organisations, is aware of the revenue generated betting on its sport generates, and the significance of data rights to this.

CSA CEO, Pholetsi Moseki, said: “Our partnership with IMG ARENA is poised to revolutionise the way detailed data is collected, both live and in-venue.

“This collaborative endeavour will introduce South African cricket to a fresh betting audience, and we are extremely excited about this opportunity.

“We are collectively shaping the future of sports data collection and broadcasting, setting new standards of excellence in the industry.”

CSA joins an extensive roster of IMG Arena partners across the sporting landscape. The company collects and distributes data for a range of prominent tournaments, including UFC, Major League Soccer , National Women’s Soccer League, PGA Tour, DP World Tour, US Tennis Association , and EuroLeague Basketball.

IMG Arena was a standalone business for much of its history, but in February this year it merged under the OpenBet umbrella by the duo’s parent company, Endeavor. OpenBet is a B2B sportsbook platform, and is partnered with a number of leading operators.

Mark Wrigley, Vice President and Head of Rights at IMG ARENA, added: “IMG ARENA is serving fans and sportsbook operators across a wide breadth of sports and markets around the world.

“Alongside CricViz, we’re excited to partner with Cricket South Africa to bring fans the ultimate sportsbook experience incorporating reliable, informed data and live streaming.”
